Helen McGuire

Helen McGuire is the Global Program Leader for Noncommunicable Diseases at PATH where she focuses her efforts on strengthening access to prevention and care for people living with NCDs. PATH has a growing NCD portfolio targeting diabetes, cardiovascular disease risk (hypertension) and women’s cancers in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. Primary health care strengthening including digital health solutions, team-based care and community-based programming; along with integration of chronic disease into HIV and TB services and promotion of data quality and data-use to inform decision-making characterize her portfolio.

Since 2014, Helen has taken a comprehensive approach to initiatives targeting access to NCD medicines and health products. By early 2020 she had led several supply chain diagnostic assessments in East and West Africa and worked with governments and partners to implement recommendations. PATH’s early work led to the development and launch of the Coalition for Access to NCD Medicines and Products in 2017. With a long-standing presence in countries, PATH’s work is created and implemented in collaboration with ministries of health and local partners.
