Global Health Leaders Unite in Their Commitment to Advance Investments and Solutions that Increase Equitable Access to Care for Noncommunicable Diseases

At the Coalition for Access to NCD Medicines and Products’ Annual Meeting, which took place in Kampala, Uganda in June, more than 100 leaders from government, civil society, academia, and industry reaffirmed a powerful message: even in times of crisis, investing in people’s health is not optional—it’s essential. With noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) driving the majority of preventable deaths worldwide, meeting attendees called for smarter, more efficient investments in primary health care, supply chains, and data systems to make NCD care more accessible; ensure adequate availability of NCD medicines and products at last mile; and gather more reliable data for decision-making. As we head toward the 4th United Nations High-Level Meeting on NCDs this September, we are united in our commitment to champion practical solutions, spotlight country-led progress, and advance innovations that show what’s possible when health remains a priority.
